| Grant
Morrison, together with co-writer Mark Millar, launched Vampi in the new
direction that Vampirella Monthly took in November 1997.
However his first published story (published a year before) was in Vampirella 25th Anniversary Special and was a brilliant twist on the Blood Red Queen of Hearts saga that had started in the Warren series. This story showed he had a feeling for the character as well as an interesting twist that was both original and exciting. However, as with Miller, it is the plotting and direction of the New Monthly that makes his contribution important to the whole Vampirella series. The stories were harder and had an edge that we had not seen before. |

Morrison's time on Vampirella was short, some would say too short. From my point of view I hope he'll be back in the future. |
