In early 2001 Harris set out to find a new model for Vampirella. It was announced on the website, in the comics and everywhere they possibly could. Twelve hopeful girls were selected from 80 initial applicants for the final decision, taken by vote from the readers. On the right this CD was sent to retailers to help promote the contest. Articles appeared in several magazines, and the website was a gorgeous display of how to do this kind of thing on the internet. Each girl was featured, along with a short video displaying her talents, plus three pictures to complement the video.

After a very close and exciting contest Maria Di Angelis won, and has since been featured on many of the Vampirella covers. She sure looks good in the part. For information on all of this you need to buy the Model Search Special from Harris with all the details.
