Vampirella/Witchblade When I first read the story of this crossover I didn't like it, but time has changed my view. The story seemed poor, but as I reread it I realised the story is more powerful than I had imagined, with Vampirella chasing some demonic vampire and Sara Pezzini discovering who she is for the first time. The regular cover by Mark Texeira, is a dream. It reminds you of similar work he has done with Vampirella and Pantha. There were a couple of very limited editions, the gold foil and blue foil, with the usual Harris limitations of 500 and 100 issues respectively. I have to admit when Harris say limited they really mean it (unlike some publishers). Dynamic Forces promised to publish a really rare hardcover volume collecting this crossover and the Top Cow Vampirella/Magdalena crossover as well (see below) but as of a year or so later we are still waiting. They also produced a rare black and white follow-up to the Witchblade and Magdalena crossovers in the Witchblade/Magdalena/Vampirella crossover. |

Vampirella/Witchblade 2 I really didn't like the first crossover between Vampirella and Witchblade but the second one was entirely different. Vampi and Sara descend into hell to an unholy wedding between the eldest daughter of Lilith and Damian, the son of Satan (or something like that). Vampi and Sara (wearing remarkably little in the way of clothing) take on the satanic hordes and beat the 'hell' (sorry) out of them. This issue has Drakulon, Vampi's sister (who appears but isn't really explained and disappears again without any explanation) and lots of blood. It also has 4 basic covers. Cool stuff - and heaps better than the first crossover with Witchblade. Five covers available (including the limited San Diego Con edition in black and white, only available at the Con and on eBay (of course)). |

Vampirella/Witchblade: The Feast Not Vampi's finest hour, nor Sara's really. This story is really an excuse for lots of blood, killing, and for Vampirella and Witchblade to strut their stuff. Three regular covers. |
